Much like the recent storm tore through the northwest the night before, Manchester City overwhelmed United away at the Etihad. It was a convincing 3-0 victory for their manager's side owing to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that clearly signaled their championship potential as they consolidated their position at the WSL pinnacle.

Consecutive Setbacks for United

This outcome marked back-to-back WSL losses for Skinner's side for the initial occasion since May 2024, placing them a significant margin off the table toppers with their title hopes severely dented.
